Last weekend we had our regular meet up round Rictus' place, taking in a few games and a trip to Warhammer World. The weekend incorporated several games of Zombicide and Dreadball and a game of 40K up in Nottingham (along with Nife's Obligatory Bugmans Breakfast).
During the weekend Maelstrom successfully persuaded me that Deadzone was something I'd want to buy (not that I needed that much persuasion, having been very close to jumping in on the kickstarter last year), and I picked up an Avatar from Forgeworld to add to the Eldar army.
Zombicide allowed us to make use of some of the season 2 goodies, lots of the kickstarter exclusive survivors and the Toxic City Mall expansion, in most games we ended up heavily in the red zone surrounded by a multitude of green and grey zombies. The standout moment was when an extra activation meant that 4 of the 5 remaining survivors suddenly found themselves surrounded by Fatties with absolutely no equipment to take them down.
Monday saw us undertake the obligatory trip to Warhammer World where we tried our hand at 40K. An entertaining game ensued, with the Tau/Eldar alliance seemingly unable to damage the large Scabby Demon (a veritable statline monster) but happy to whittle away the daemonic minions. The game ended with the Wraithlord charging into combat with Scabby in a valiant last stand to allow the remainder of the army to back away.
As mentioned in Rictus's blog we fit in a few games of Dreadball using the newer Season 3 pitch and rules. I quite enjoyed the new setup. All games were fairly close run things, with Maelstrom suffering some very bad luck at times...
Due to real life issues upcoming posts may be a bit intermittent but hopefully will see a continuation of the Eldar along with a slight refresh to the Orx for Dreadball...
